A smoke alarm is the easiest way to alert you to the danger of a fire, giving you precious time to escape. There is no excuse for not having one.
Many people who have smoke alarms are in danger too. They may not have checked their alarm recently or the batteries could be missing or flat.
Why not have mains powered alarms fitted? They have a battery back up so even if the electricity is off, they still work! They can also be inter-connected so if there is a fire downstairs the upstairs alarms will sound.
